Matt DeRose
Matt is the owner at Matt DeRose Builders. As a teenager Matt worked for his father’s construction company, DeRose Builders, learning many of the ins and outs of the construction world. Upon graduating from high school, Matt began his journey at Ferris State University, earning a bachelor’s degrees in Construction Management, as well as a two-year Associate's degree in Building Construction Technology. Matt then worked for a construction company in Grand Rapids for roughly a year before he decided to head back to his home town of Whitehall, In the fall of 1999 Matt joined his father in working for the family business. Two short years later Matt obtained his Builder’s License. This time spent with his father was intended to be short-lived while he looked for other job opportunities in the construction business; however, just shy of two decades later while still working along side his father, Matt became the new proud owner of Matt DeRose Builders LLC. “I created Matt DeRose Builders with the same mindset and philosophy that allowed DeRose Builders to become the successful family business that it was”, states Matt. “It was important to me that we stayed with our loyal customers and prided ourselves in always using top of the line products”. Since the creation of Matt DeRose Builders LLC in 2016, the MDB team has more than doubled in size which has granted them the opportunity to embark a bit more in the commercial scene, as well as grow their current new home projects. “Maintaining the original backbone of the company which included remodels and new home projects”, says Matt, “with the addition of more commercial work, the Matt DeRose Builders team is able to successfully meet the construction needs in our community”.
William
William has worked in the industry for 32 years and worked for Matt DeRose builders since 2018. When he is not busy building he enjoys hunting & spending time with his kids.
Zack
Zack has been in the construction world since 2012, and joined the crew in 2023. He is excited for many years to come and to grow his knowledge with the Matt DeRose Builders team. Zack is the father of 2 amazing kids. They enjoy fishing, golfing & playing with their dog.
Daniel aka Red Dog
Daniel has been working for Matt DeRose builders since 2017. With his spare time he enjoys bowling and tractor play! Daniel has been in the industry for over 40 years!
Joe
Joe started his construction career in 2008 and has worked for Matt DeRose builders since 2011. Joe is originally from Tennessee, huge Vols fan! Loves football and is a dedicated Cowboys fan! When he is not on the job site he enjoys time with his family, Joe has 3 grown sons, a step daughter (+ their spouses) and 8 grand kids.
Sam
In 2023, Sam joined the MDB team. In his spare time you will find hime with friends, fishing, and hunting. With two dogs and a pet frog, his household is lively. Sam has enjoyed connecting with all of his colleagues and getting to know them better.
Justin
Justin has joined the MDB crew from the roofing world, he also brings experience in siding and framing.
Justin enjoys disc golf & video games as well as spending time with his 2 children. Next time you see him ask him about the time he was chased down a mountain in Wyoming by a moose!
Tony
Tony enjoys all the new things he is learning, he started his construction career with Matt DeRose Builders in 2022. When he is not at work he enjoys working on projects at home.
Bailey
Bailey is starting with MDB as a General Laborer. He is a great addition to the team and enjoys learning something new everyday.
When Bailey is not at work he is usually hiking, participating in sports or spending time with his family.
Twila
After retiring from being a nurse for over 40 years Twila needed something to do. And if any knows Twila, she can’t sit still for to long. So, she works for Matt deep cleaning a house or project prior to the owner’s taking occupancy. The line that Matt gives all his customers is “My mother will be your favorite employee of mine, because she is the last one to work on your home. She cleans it prior to move in.” On top of being a magical cleaner, she is also proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren.
Carolyn
Carolyn started working for Matt DeRose Builders in 2023. Carolyn is originally from Indianapolis and moved to Michigan in 2005! She is a wife, mom of 5 and a photographer! When she is not at work you will find her at the beach probably reading a book.
